As someone who considers “A Link to the Past” on the Super Famicom or SNES my favorite "Legend of Zelda" game ever, I quite like the simple top-down 2D look that the game uses. "Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer" is the type of unusual crossover that just works.įirst off, let me just say that I love the game’s visuals. Sometimes, though, the things you don’t expect end up being wonderful delights. Heck, I wasn’t even aware that its forerunner, the original Crypt of the Necrodancer, existed. True confession - I didn’t even know that (take a deep breath) “Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda” was coming out until I got an email asking if I wanted a review code for it. The Legend of Zelda and dancing, on the other hand, is a different story.
